The Advantage Dryer Vents can be built into our glass block panels using silicone or mortar.
These glass block dryer vents are built using a fully welded vinyl frame with automatic shutters. The benefit of using a vinyl dryer vent is the strength and low maintenance that the vinyl provides. Being built out of vinyl means there is no chance of the vent peeling or rusting. While the vinyl vent does not need much maintenance, the dryer and vent should be regularly cleaned and inspected every 6-12 months. When cleaning the vents you want to check for any loose lint and make sure to fully remove it to reduce the risk of fires.
There are 5 signs you can look out for to know if your vent needs to be cleaned!
- Your clothes are taking longer than normal to fully dry.
- After the drying cycle, the clothes are still damp.
- The dryer is hot to the touch after a cycle.
- There is a musty odor while the dryer is drying.
- There is a noticeable amount of lint accumulating on or around the vent.
These Advantage Vinyl Dryer Vents are built with automatic shutters that open when the dryer is running and close when the dryer is off. The automatic shutter helps keep insects and other small rodents out while the dryer is not in use.
The importance of a glass block dryer vent is the ability to remove unwanted moisture and humidity from your home. Not having your dryer vented to the outside of your home can lead to the growth of mold and mildew. In some cases, gas dryers put off unhealthy amounts of carbon monoxide that can be harmful to you and your family.
In the chance that the vent needs to be replaced, it is easy to break just the dryer vent out of the window or panel and replace it with a new one!
